Late payment fees are assessed when there is a past due balance on the student’s account. It is the responsibility of the student to review their billing statement and ensure that tuition, fees and other charges are paid by the scheduled due date.

Late Payment Fee Waiver Requests must be submitted within thirty (30) days of the late payment fee being assessed on the student’s account. In order for the waiver request to be considered and reviewed, all past due charges must first be paid in full. Late payment fees will be refunded if a waiver is approved.

To submit a request for a late payment fee waiver, please complete the required information below.

A representative of the Cashier’s office will review your request within five (5) business days. If the request is approved, waivers will be processed and reflected on the next billing statement. If the request is not approved, an email notification will be sent to the student’s Rice Email Address.

NOTE: Late registration fees are processed by the Office of the Registrar. For requests to waive a late registration fee on your account, please send an email to
